Since we are a team, and we all need each other to also be geared to make it through harder and harder content, we should be shooting for a balance. Also, as I'm not some sort of leader or anything, this whole forum will be more of a discussion than anything–a collaboration on what works best for everyone.
My initial thoughts are to use something I saw in my last FC, but use it differently. Like I said before, balance is key here, and we want everyone to be well geared, not to have 1 person at 115 and another person at 92. That said, we also need to focus on gearing the job that you use as a main while we raid. Please don't take gear from people who actually need it unless you've agreed on something ahead of time. This includes a rare situation in which we might need people to change jobs around to fit new circumstances. Say we're down a BRD, and I need to fill in for whatever reason, and someone else takes my healing spot. That new healer should not be rolling on loot unless it's okay with me and the other healer. Obviously, we will take care of people who help out by having multiple jobs in this raid, but we do need to think about the main jobs first and foremost.
If two people need the same gear, it should come down to:
A ) Whose ilvl will increase more from getting this piece? If shoes drop, and I have i100 shoes equipped, but Gerun has i90 shoes equipped, Gerun should take priority here (think of it as needing to get rid of weak gear before upgrading stronger gear). B ) If both people have the same ilvl shoes here, look at what's BIS next and discuss among yourselves. SCHs tend to focus on Crit more than anything, whereas WHMs want more of Determination (sorry for all the healer talk, but this was the only job comparison I could think of that was this cut and dry), so shoes with Crit on them might be more of a priority for the SCH, but this can all be worked out amongst yourselves.
Next order of business are the Oils, Sands, UATs. At this point, they are so easy to get from a variety of sources that I'm willing to just say it's a free-for-all. One thing I might say though is that if you get a gear piece, maybe don't roll on an oil/sand/UAT as well in the same turn. If something drops in the next turn, feel free, but I just don't want one person getting pretty much all of the drops from one fight unless it's unavoidable.
Finally, to coordinate all of the above, I'm thinking when everything drops, wait off on rolling for a second. That way, people can discuss needs on what gear appears. We're all adults and we're courteous, so I'm not too concerned with our negotiating.
Thoughts? I want everyone who joins the group to post something here, just so I know you read it. If you hate it, let me know. If it sounds good, let me know. Any additional ideas are always welcome. =)
I think this is a fair loot system. I'm thinking very soon our static will become a grind static rather than coil to get geared for THCoB (pronounced with a lithp). Most importantly we need to discuss with those we're sharing far with, this being the default system
I agree with this. Though one thing to note is when we start downing T11 and 12 on the new sands/oils and whatnot (whatever the hell those things are called). We should have rules for those as well.
I think we're finding that (as always), DPS is kind of a big deal in the FCOB, so (as much as it is against my wishes =P), I'm thinking DPS should be first priority for the new tome for the weapons. In terms of Coats/Twines, I wonder if maybe we can look at what would benefit the group best again?
For example, certain gear gives a higher boost than other gear. It goes as follows:
Weapon Chest/Pants Gloves/Head/Feet Jewelry/Belt
So…ignoring weapon for now (as that will depend entirely on the tome drops), I'd say whoever already has their poetic piece for Chest/Pants AND is the lowest ilvl of the group should roll first for Twine. Then, once those are updated, we move on to Gloves/Head/Feet. PLEASE remember to only request these things if they're BIS for your job though. If the FCOB gear is better in slot for you, I'd rather everyone who needs it for BIS get theirs before you get yours (me, for example. My chest/pants BIS are both FCOB gear)
Coats are a little more…up for grab. I wonder if maybe those are best given to whoever is lowest average ilvl in general.
In either case, if there's a tie, the people who are tied roll on them.
Again, these are general rules, and we can always work things out before rolling on gear. In fact, I'd like to make it a general rule that, at all times when raiding, NO ONE ROLLS on things until we've all been able to talk about it. This moreso affects people who share gear (healers/tanks or the Coats/Twines/Tomes), but makes it better for communication purposes.
Either way, I'm just excited we have a full group!
